How To Write A Great Rent-A-Friend Advert
Your profile is really what closes the deal and gets clients to send you a message and start arranging bookings.
Your description/biography should be more than a few lines – remember it’s a celebration of who you are! You really want your client to be taken on a journey of your life and how they could fit into it when they read your biography. The best biographies aren’t always the longest, however it should express your personality clearly, have no spelling or grammar mistakes but be written as you would normally talk rather than read as a robot i.e.
“I like to socialise. I like to have fun. I like to make people smile. I am fun.” Is a good example of what NOT to write as it is very generic and applies to pretty much everyone. You want to be seen as the unique individual that you.
Below is a good example of how an excellent profile could read and the value you ought to demonstrate:

I believe that the sexiest thing on a person is their smile, all I can promise if you pick me is good conversation and to keep your smile glowing.

Tips and Advice:
Don’t write about how handsome or sexy you are – clients can judge that for themselves and saying things like “I’m an attractive man/woman” – only makes you sound arrogant!
Do write about your passions, hobbies, interests and fun activities you enjoy that the client can potentially share. New experiences are always interesting.
Don’t write about your life story, anything negative or sarcastic as it may be misunderstood when read by a client. Don’t copy the example – write in your own words or we will reject your profile!
Do use a spell checker when typing up your biography – to avoid spelling or grammar mistakes.
Don’t write an essay – keep your biography short and to the point. The average client will spend about 30 seconds deciding if you’re what he/she wants for a date. 2 paragraphs and a list of interests should cover you.
Dig deep and you’ll write a great profile don’t be shy to brag about how great you are either. After all you don’t want to sell yourself short and miss a booking!
The perfect pictures for a profile are clear, good quality photos :.
- You want 1 good head and shoulders shot with and without a smile
- You also want 1 good full body shot in casual clothes
- You also should have some pictures of yourself in smart attire.
What you don’t want in a photo…
- Sun glasses
- Toilette / bathroom self-taken photos
- Messy untidy/filthy backgrounds of your house/flat
- Childrens toys
It’s important to have great pictures, if you can get professional ones taken, even better (though not essential).
